Cavaliers Facing Elimination In Game 5

Injury Report: Mitchell and Others Out for Cavaliers in Game 5

Cavaliers Facing Elimination in Game 5

The Cleveland Cavaliers are facing an uphill battle in their Eastern Conference semifinals series against the Boston Celtics. Trailing 3-1 in the series, the Cavs will need to win Game 5 on Wednesday night in order to stay alive.

However, the Cavaliers will be without several key players for Game 5. Donovan Mitchell (calf injury), Max Strus (hamstring injury), Isaac Okoro (foot injury), and Caris LeVert (elbow injury) are all listed as out for the game.

Mitchell's Absence a Major Blow

Mitchell's absence is a particularly big blow for the Cavaliers. The All-Star guard is the team's leading scorer and has been averaging 27.4 points per game in the playoffs.

In Mitchell's absence, the Cavaliers will need other players to step up. Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen will all need to have big games if the Cavs want to have a chance to win.

Can the Cavs Overcome Injuries?

The Cavaliers have shown a lot of resilience throughout the playoffs, but they will face their biggest challenge yet in Game 5.

With Mitchell and several other key players out, the Cavs will need to find a way to dig deep and play their best game of the series. If they can do that, they have a chance to force a Game 6.
